This itinerary distributes the trekking hours evenly, significantly reducing daily fatigue and giving you ample time for photography, relaxing at the campsite, and truly enjoying nature.

You will conquer the summit, but you will also get to spend a generous amount of time at the magnificent Segara Anak Lake, soak your tired muscles in the natural hot springs, and witness two completely different landscapes: the open savannahs of Sembalun and the dense, mystical rainforests of Senaru.

Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Journey to the Clouds

Sembalun Village (1,100m) ➔ Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m)

  • Register at the Rinjani Trekking Center (RTC) in Sembalun.
  • Enjoy a gentle hike through the wide savannah.
  • Camp at the Sembalun Crater Rim, overlooking the lake and the summit.

Day 2: Top of Lombok & Lakeside Serenity

Crater Rim (2,639m) ➔ Summit (3,726m) ➔ Segara Anak Lake (2,000m)

  • Early morning summit push for an epic sunrise.
  • Return to camp for breakfast, then descend to the crater lake.
  • Set up camp right next to Segara Anak Lake.
  • Spend the afternoon swimming, soaking in hot springs, or even fishing with the porters.

Day 3: The Second Rim

Segara Anak Lake (2,000m) ➔ Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m)

  • Enjoy a slow morning at the lake. No rushing required!
  • After lunch, begin the rocky 3-hour ascent to the Senaru Crater Rim.
  • Set up camp for your final night. This spot offers arguably the best sunset view, framing the lake, the new volcano (Gunung Baru Jari), and Bali in the distance.

Day 4: The Jungle Descent

Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m) ➔ Senaru Village (601m)

  • Descend through the thick tropical rainforest.
  • The trail is well-shaded, offering a cool and refreshing walk back to civilization.
  • Arrive at Senaru Village, receive your climbing certificate, and transfer to your next destination.
